The history of Mitas brand reaches back to the thirties of the last century. The tires were first produced in Prague, then in Zlín, and then in Otrokovice in the Czech Republic. The latest European production plant in Otrokovice started operating in 2013. It produces radial tyres designed for high-performance agricultural technology. In 2016, Mitas became a part of group Trelleborg. Currently, the Mitas branded tires are produced in the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Serbia, Sri Lanka and in one production plant in America.
In April 2012, Mitas newest radial farm tire production started in the new factory in Charles City, which originally coined the word “tractor.” The investment agreements were signed on August 31, 2010, at the Farm Progress Show in Boone, IA. In fall 2010, the company bought the Winnebago facility in Charles City. In January 2012, the first Mitas test tire was cured in Iowa, and in April 2012 started serial production.
Mitas tires are suitable for American and Canadian original equipment manufacturers and replacement markets. A significant part of the production of radial farm Mitas tires for new tractors and combines goes directly to the plants of recognised manufacturers of agricultural machines, such as John Deere, Case New Holland, Unverferth and local replacement tire users.
Mitas tires are sold through an extensive international sales and distribution network operating worldwide, including the United States and Mexico.
